A new highlight in the academia alumni programme – The rational way to the functional masticatory surface
As part of the alumni programme, a new course will be offered for the first time at the academia • dental.
As part of the alumni programme, a new course will be offered for the first time at the academia • dental. The emphasis of this Morphology/Wax-up Technique course is on practical training. The participants will learn systematically about the complex connections of the functional-dynamic procedures within an occlusal relief. The masticatory movements leave a regular but nevertheless individual pattern of movement on the masticatory surface. An important aim of the course is to achieve undisturbed lateral and forward movements. Course contents are:
- Functional and aesthetic design of the masticatory surface
- Systematical waxing up in the posterior region
- Basic knowledge of articulation and jaw joint anatomy
- Reference lines and levels at the cranium
- Working with a face-bow
- Individual anterior tooth guiding plate
- From way modelling and investment control to precise casting
- Design of the masticatory surface in metal
The aim of this theoretically as well as practically oriented course is to get via wax modelling and the implementation in metal to an anatomically and functionally immaculate reconstruction.
The dental technician will be able to implement what has been learned fast and effectively on prepared articulated models. Coordinated working steps as well as clearly defined functional controls will help him. During the course, several single crowns will be constructed. This very intense course shows how to get a perfect result without a high expenditure of time.
It will take place June 19 – 23 and will be given in English language. The course is accessible for alumni club members (former academia • dental participants) only.
